Summary
The soldiers who fight for the freedoms we enjoy everyday often have to make great sacrifices in the course of their careers. Unfortunately, this usually includes spending large amounts of away from home and family with limited means of communication back to the states, causing great strain on relationships. When overseas, soldiers can easily become the victim of infidelity by their spouses back home.
This is exactly what happened to one US soldier while stationed overseas. The soldier came to ICS because he felt that his wife was cheating while he was away defending his country. The soldier knew that his wife used many different email addresses, which he felt was somewhat suspicious. On top of her questionable email activity, the wife had recently stopped taking his phone calls. The soldier was still in communication with his children, and he was upset to hear them explain that their mother was going out a lot more than she ever did when he was home. The soldier wanted to know the truth about what was going on with his wife, and he had a bad feeling that she was showing the common signs of cheating. The soldier did not have it in his budget to have surveillance performed to catch his wife in the act of cheating. Instead, ICS was able to perform a social networking investigation to find out if his wife was openly seeking new relationships.
Conclusion
Once the soldier became a client of ICS, our private investigators began researching the activity on the accounts belonging to his wife. ICS investigators quickly found out that the wife had a Facebook account with over 1,000 friends that the soldier knew nothing about.
Private investigators found extremely racy photos of the wife on her Facebook profile for all her friends to see. It was instantly obvious that the majority of the wife’s Facebook friends were men. ICS investigators decided to initiate a Facebook investigation, posing as a young, slightly depressed female, living in the same town as the wife, with the hope that the wife would take in the girl in a “baby sister” role.
Private investigators from ICS made contact with the wife through the Facebook account. The wife was asked about her photos, and flattered by being told how beautiful she was. ICS investigators feigned low self-esteem in order to get the subject to talk more about herself, and openly communicate. Once firmly associated in a big sister/little sister role, the wife began bragging about all the dates she had been going on. The wife talked excessively about their cars, and went into detail about what they did on these dates.
The information obtained during the investigation was reported to the client in a timely and efficient manner. The client was saddened by the news, but relieved to finally know the truth.
