Bomb Threats and Detection

A bomb threat is a form of terrorism, the threat to detonate an explosive, even if it is a false alarm, can instill panic and hysteria. Often, such a threat is made via a telephone call. Although 98% of all bomb threats turn out to be false, and are considered pranks, they should be treated as real until completely proven otherwise.

If you have received a bomb threat call 911 first and then call us immediately.

Bomb threats should be taken seriously, so seriously, that it is considered a felony to even threaten someone with explosives in many states. A threat can be given by a disgruntled employee for revenge, an employee who is seeking time off, or just a random prankster. The truth of the matter is, that there are real people who plant real bombs! A threat should never be ignored due to the questionability that it is false.

After the police have gone through the area and proven the threat either true or false, the question still remains: "Who done it?" How can you discover who was behind such an upset? ICS will be there to take the lead on the investigation to get you the results you need to make your workplace safe and to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Preventative Procedures:

It is a good idea to establish guidelines in your company on how to handle a bomb threat. We have all gone through fire-drills and realize the efficiency of having a set plan BEFORE a disastrous event occurs. Bomb threat procedures should also be planned and practiced in advance.
