Handwriting Analysis

Handwriting can be as uniquely identifying as a fingerprint.  Handwriting analysis is the process of comparing the document with that of the handwriting of the suspected author.  This can show proof that a document was or was not signed by the party in question.

Altered Dates or Document Timeline

Documentation examination for time references can include a number of things, such as whether a document was signed before or after the document was created, as well as a general understanding of when the document was created.  For instance if a document was signed before the body of the document was created, then it would verify that the signer was not knowledgeable of what was being signed.  Also, documents that are to be created over a period of time, such as ledgers, medical statements, log books, etc. can be examined through a timeline analysis.  We can determine if it was created over the said period of time, or on the spot in one sitting.

Altered Documents

Altered documents can mean one of three things.

Documents that were torn can be put together again much like a puzzle with close examination of it's edges.  We can also determine if there were missing or added pages to a document such as a will or contract.

Digital Document Orientation Analysis

Many people are not aware of the fact that a digitally produced document can be matched up to the piece of equipment which produced it such as a THE printer, fax, copier, and even typewriter.  This is very similar to a ballistics investigation where a fired bullet is matched to the gun that fired it.
